We are so happy you’ve decided to take a closer look at Mine to Adore for your newborn’s first photos.  We hope to create an experience that you leave feeling relaxed and stress free.

Our recently finished in-home studio space is located in Syracuse, Utah.  We take extra precautions for your family and little one.  Each session is followed up with a deep clean and disinfection process to ensure our space is safe and clean, a practice starting long before 2020.

Planning is Everything

It’s important that you get exactly what you have dreamed about for your newborn session.  We know these images will be displayed in your home for generations to come.  This is why your newborn session has allot of planning that occurs behind the scenes. When you book with Mine to Adore each set up is specially planned for and designed with you and your desires in mind.  If you haven’t already please fill out the Newborn Questionnaire

My Philosophy

I believe in simple & timeless portraiture when it comes to newborns, this style focuses on your beautiful baby. I don’t use a lot of “crazy props”. Some of my favorite images have no props at all. Just baby. 100% beautiful on their own.  Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of  props available at the studio, these include hats and headbands and lots of textures that I like to use, buckets, beds, etc.  But in general, these props are not meant to distract from your baby but more so put the focus on baby.

When is the right time to book your newborn session?

It’s never too early to get on my calendar for your newborn session.  I book 2 newborns per week as to allow flexibility in terms of due dates versus actual birth dates.   You will receive a tentative date for your session based on your due date; however, this date can and often does change once baby arrives.  For this reason, it is important to get on my calendar sooner than later.

How soon do you come in for your session once baby arrives?

Since this is a newborn session, it’s important that I capture your baby in their newest form.   Ideally, newborn sessions occur within the first 2-3 weeks of your baby’s life.  They are still very sleepy and I am able to pose them in those curly, snuggled up poses that everyone loves so much.   You will receive a prep guide a few days before your session that lists some things to help you prepare yourself and your new baby for the session.  I know that this time can be a bit overwhelming for new parents and that’s why I take all the guess work out.  You really just need to show up with your baby and their food (breast or bottle) and I will take care of the rest!

How long will a session last?

A full newborn session lasts anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on the baby.  I allow plenty of time for feeding and soothing during these sessions.  All babies are different and all sessions are different so this is a rough estimate of how long you can expect to be at the studio the day of your newborn session. If you are doing the mini session usually we can be done in about an hour.

How many outfits should you bring for the baby to wear for his/her photos?

None, I have SO many outfits that were hand sewn or knitted to fit newborns perfectly.   Once you fill out your styling questionnaire, I will select outfits, headbands, hats, and props to suit your color preferences and style.  You are more than welcome to bring a special item from home to incorporate into your session when you book the Classic or Lux.

What should parents/siblings wear?

Keeping it simple is best!  Parents posing with their new baby should wear things neutral or muted in color with minimal designs and brand logos.    Moms can wear anything from a simple camisole to a long sleeved top, to a maxi dress.  Dads can go with a basic t-shirt in white, tan, gray, black, soft blue, etc.  As long as all the colors flow, it will be perfect.  Also, a very important thing to be mindful of is bra straps and fingernails/hands.  Be sure your nails are neat since your hands will definitely be shown in the photos.  Siblings should also have neat hands/fingernails (no chipped nail polish please) and clothes should fit well.  If shirts or pants are too big, it tends to look messy and can distract from the image.  I am always available to help coordinate these outfits.
